Doom Detox, Day 2
Give your poor amygdala (and yourself!) a break with this layered practice.
We´re back with Day 2: De-Doom.
This one is a client favorite, with the power to not only calm our sense of alarm but actually heal us emotionally from past trauma. It has helped me personally, and many of my clients swear that it released them from years of suffering.
Pretty high praise for something so simple. That´s what I love about it!
And most of my clients (with my encouragement) have put their own spin on it.
You´ll see what I mean in the video:
Okay, that was fun, but also: potentially powerful.
Keep playing with it until you find your right timing, touch, and (if you choose) tune.
Irina is a pro bono client I worked with back in 2022. She is a child psychologist who had to flee from Ukraine to Poland after her city was destroyed and her young son was injured.
I reached out to ask her which tip had helped her the most. This is her reply:
¨Oh Maya, I must tell you this: it is the tapping exercise. In fact, I use it every day!
If you remember, it really helped me to release my shock and terrible memories. After you introduced me to EFT, I started studying it.
I have taught it to so many mothers and clients here! Over 100, I would say. Thank you for teaching me to be creative with it! Many of us are using our favorite Ukrainian songs. I think it makes it even more healing.
Maya, I don´t know how I would have survived without your kindness and generosity. I am doing what you asked: spreading it to others!¨
You can read Irina´s remarkable story (including her happy update!) here
Thank you for being present, for being open to exploring what might help you and your overworked amygdala, and for being willing to play for the sake of tapping(!) into joy.
On Day 3, you get to do some swapping. You can READ IT HERE

I was doing this with you while I was sitting in an Epson salt bath. It was so comforting to do it together and I didn’t realize to put my two fingers on either side of my collarbone. I like that you talked about the thump because I always found tapping to be too light and the thump felt a lot better for me. Thank you for this tool that I keep in my arsenal since I learned it from you a while ago and now refined it to work even better.
I just have to share one of my happy songs with you, Maya. 😀
